Mr. Nauman Bashir Bhatti
A career Foreign Service Officer of Pakistan.
As part of his diplomatic service, he has held several key positions at Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Missions Abroad, in both bilateral and multilateral arenas. He has also maintained an active international profile and held various elected/leadership positions at the global level.
At the Foreign Ministry, served as Assistant Director (United States and United Nations); Director (United Nations); and Director to the Foreign Secretary. Prior to assuming responsibilities in Astana, he was serving as Director General (Strategic Planning) at the Foreign Secretary Office.
His diplomatic assignments abroad include working at Pakistan Missions in Berlin (First Secretary); New York (Counsellor at Permanent Mission to United Nations); and Brussels (Deputy Head of Mission).
At the global level, he is serving as the Co-Chair of Green Climate Fund (GCF) Board for 2023; Chair of GCF Ethics & Audit Committee; and member of GCF Performance Oversight Committee.
Previously, he remained Vice-President of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC); Chair of Asia Pacific Group within UNFCCC; Co-Chair of GCF Board for 2020; Co-Chair of GCF Private Sector Advisory Group; and Vice-Chair of Adaption Fund Board. Remained member of Kyoto Protocol Compliance Committee; and UN Advisory Group on Energy (SDG7).
He holds Master in International Politics from CERIS-ULB Diplomatic School of Brussels, Belgium.
He is married with two children.
