The President of the Republic of Kazakhstan H.E. Mr. Nursultan Nazarbayev by a decree has awarded a medal on Mr. Abdul Salik Khan, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Republic of Kazakhstan on the occasion of the 25th Anniversary of the Independence of Kazakhstan in recognition of Ambassador Khan’s services for enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
- The medal was awarded to Ambassador Khan on the recommendations of the Presidential Administration and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.
- In the recent years the relationship between Pakistan and Central Asian countries, particularly Kazakhstan, has strengthened meaningfully. It is reflected by exchange of high level visits from the two sides that included two visits by the then Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in August 2015 and June 2017 and a visit by President Mamnoon Hussain in September 2017. These visits have further solidified relations between Pakistan and Kazakhstan and a comprehensive road map focussing on connectivity and economic and trade relations, is actively under consideration by the two sides.
